Arrive at the TEMSCO heliport and meet your experienced pilot and courteous attendants. Our staff enjoys sharing their experiences and knowledge of the area with visitors. You'll be fitted for special "glacier-walk" boots and receive a comprehensive safety briefing before boarding a modern, five to six passenger, turbine helicopter for take-off.

What You Should Know About
The Mendenhall Glacier by Helicopter & Guided Walk
- Duration includes approximately 30 minutes of helicopter time and 20-25 minutes on the Mendenhall Glacier; giving a total time of 50-55 minutes.
- Please allow additional time for transportation to and from the dock, a safety briefing, and outfitting of glacier boots. From pick up to drop off it is approximately 2 ¼ hours.
- Due to increased security, no carry-on bags will be allowed on the helicopters. A secure location will be provided at the office for storing personal items.
- Glacier boots are provided.
- Due to weight and balance limitations, as well as passenger safety and comfort, the helicopter companies have advised that guests weighing 250 lbs or more (fully clothed) will be assessed the weight surcharge to reserve adequate space onboard the helicopter.
- Guests weighing 250lbs or more should reserve two tickets, and once onboard their ship, go to the Tour Office to have the extra ticket charge adjusted down to the surcharge amount.
- You cannot divide the excess weight among your party.
- Helicopter tours may have different cancellation policies to other tours. Please check with your cruiseline regarding these.
- If the tour is cancelled by the helicopter company due to weather, you will be refunded the full amount.
