Steamboat & Mining History Cruise

Steamboat & Mining History Cruise Tour Brochure (1.9MB)
Want to see Juneau’s waterfront from a different point of view? This tour provides an excellent opportunity to do so.
This hour long cruise begins in Juneau’s downtown harbor on the only wood-fired passenger steamboat in Alaska. The captain, a local Juneauite, will explain the workings of the steam engine powering the boat and the history of steam boats in Juneau.
Your guide will also tell you the history of Juneau, including all about the discovery of gold. You will come away from this tour with the knowledge any Juneauite has of its famous gold mine and the colorful characters of that era.
The boat is fully enclosed so you will stay warm and dry in all weather conditions. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Gastineau channel, downtown Juneau and the beautiful mountains.
Make sure you bring your camera! This tour is also available for purchase on board the steamboat as well as at the Mt Roberts Tram.
